It does not cover impact damage, a puncture from road debris, or film that failed because a pressure washer was held an inch from the edge.
The installation warranty covers the workmanship. Lifting edges, trapped contamination, a seam that opens up. That warranty comes from the shop, not the manufacturer, and it is not standardized across the industry. Some shops offer it in writing, some offer it verbally, and some do not offer it at all. Get it in writing.
One more question almost nobody thinks to ask: will the manufacturer warranty be registered in your name? A warranty you cannot claim is not a warranty.
